Description

Woodcote is a detached house dating from the early 19th century, with additions and alterations made in the 1970s. The exterior is built of rendered and painted rubble stone, with a Welsh slate hipped roof featuring deep boxed eaves and brackets. Brick stacks are present. The front facade has two storeys and a three-window arrangement. A central four-panelled door is set within a semi-circular headed surround with pilasters and features a fanlight. Flanking the door are four-pane sashes with margin glazing, all sheltered by a verandah with cast-iron supports and decorative fringe. The first floor has three matching sashes in plain architraves. The left return has a single sash window to the ground floor, and the right return also has a similar sash. Modern additions, not considered to be of special architectural interest, are attached to the left and right returns.

The rear of the house includes a 20th-century porch with a six-panelled door, a pair of twelve-pane sashes to the right, and a two-storey bay window to the left. The first floor on the right rear has two twelve-pane sashes.

Inside, the house retains a staircase with stick balusters and a moulded handrail, along with four-panelled doors.
