Description
The churchyard wall and gates on the south and east sides of the Church of St Mary the Virgin are likely from the time of the church's restoration between 1864 and 1866. The wall is made of squared Devonian limestone rubble, featuring copings and gate piers constructed from matching dressed blocks. The coping is chamfered with vertical channeling on the chamfers. There are double iron gates on both the south and east sides, which have scrolled braces and lily-head finials. This structure is included for its group value.
