Description

Poplar Farmhouse is a mid-17th century farmhouse constructed of rubble. It originally comprised one storey and an attic, with two gables, one steep on the left and one low on the right, although the right gable has subsequently been built up. The roof is corrugated iron, but sections of thatch remain underneath. A rubble chimney stack is positioned off-centre. The farmhouse has two windows, which are mostly modern casements. A four-light casement window with chamfered mullions is located to the right of the central plank front door. The interior features a cross passage with a room on either side, and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
