Description

Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring stone dressings and long and short quoins. The roof is covered with triple roll and double Roman tiles, and has raised coped verges and gable stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape.

The south elevation has two storeys and two windows. The ground floor includes a three-light casement window with wide ovolo mullions and a hood mould. There is also a door with chamfered jambs, a bolection-moulded head, a dripstone, and a pediment. On the first floor, there are two similar two-light casement windows. To the right, the gable end of the wing features a two-light attic window with a moulded mullion, surround, and hood mould. Above this window, a block of stone projecting from the quoins holds a metal sundial.

The right return of the building is symmetrical, with two storeys and two windows, all featuring three-light casements with ovolo mullions and hood moulds. Attached to the left is a 1½ storey outhouse, which has had its roof removed. This outhouse includes a door with a timber lintel and a two-light casement window at ground level, with another window above the door. The left return of the house has a two-span roof, two gable ends, and a 1½ storey gabled wing attached. The interior has not been inspected.
