Description

A pair of houses dating from the early 19th century, located on a village street, with later alterations and additions. The houses are built of rubble with stone dressings, and have a slate roof with raised coped verges and gable and ridge stacks. "Purbeck," the house to the left, is two storeys high with two windows. The ground floor has a two-light casement window with an ovolo mullion and a hood mould, a door within a moulded stone surround with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets, and a small two-pane window with a hood mould. The first floor has two two-light casements, each with six panes, set under the eaves. "Roselands," the house to the right, is also two storeys high with two windows. It mirrors the ground floor details of Purbeck with two-light casement windows, a central four-panelled door featuring a similar stone surround, and two similar two-light casements under the eaves. A single-storey addition has been made to the left, incorporating a 20th-century door and window.
