Description

The Brown Chest Tomb, located 10 yards south of the Rood Stairtower of Holy Trinity Church, is a Grade II listed chest tomb commemorating William Brown, who died in 1808. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features inscribed diamond panels, enriched spandrels, a moulded cornice, and oval end panels. The tomb represents a notable collection of local and classical tomb designs and significantly enhances the church's setting.
