Description

This is an 18th-century chest tomb located about 7 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. James the Great in Westerleigh. It is made of sandstone and features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded base. The tomb has corner pilasters adorned with rosettes and a large oval panel on the south side, which includes cherubs in the spandrels. The earliest decipherable date on the tomb is 1743.
