Description
The Nichols monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 8 metres east of the chancel of the Church of Holy Trinity. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge, reeded corner pilasters adorned with rosettes, and a moulded plinth. There are paired inscription panels on the north and south sides, commemorating Elizabeth Nichols, who died in 1823, along with other family members. At the time of the survey in September 1984, the stone face was showing signs of spalling.
