Description
The Romer Chest Tomb, located 8 yards south of the chancel of Holy Trinity Church, is a chest tomb dating from the early 18th century, commemorating John Romer, who died in 1710 or 1712. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features square inscribed panels, panelled pilaster strips, and a moulded cornice. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb forms and significantly enhances the setting of the church.
