Description

No 8 High Street is a late 16th century to early 17th century building, originally gabled until the late 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with a slate roof, and has Double Roman tiles at the rear. The building features large, rendered twin diagonal stacks and stands two storeys high. There are three windows: two two-storey bays with 1-3-1 light casements and ovolo moulded stone mullions, and a central 3-light moulded mullion casement. Drips over the ground and first floor windows join to form string courses. The entrance has a panelled door set in a stone doorcase.

Inside, there is a central passage with a moulded doorframe to the left, featuring double ovolo and stops. A winder staircase is present, and the room to the right has a moulded segmental arch lintel above an ashlar fireplace.
