Description

The Ricketts monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 11 metres east of the chancel of the Church of Holy Trinity in Doynton. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and diagonal corner pilasters that are decorated with a carved Greek key pattern. It has a moulded plinth and paired inscription panels on the north and south sides, with a central skull on the south panel. The monument commemorates Richard Ricketts, who died in 1807, along with other family members.
