The Birch Chest Tomb, located 9 yards south of the Rood Stairtower of Holy Trinity Church, is a Grade II listed chest tomb dating from 1775, commemorating Elizabeth Birch. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features inscribed and enriched panels, fluted pilaster strips, and a moulded cornice. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb forms, significantly enhancing the setting of the church.
