Description

The Davis monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 9 metres south of the nave of the Church of Holy Trinity. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of sandstone and limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded sandstone plinth. It has plain quarter balusters and paired inscription panels on the north and south sides. The south side includes shaped panels that depict a putto, an hourglass, and foliage. The monument commemorates William Davis, who died in 1778, along with other members of the family.
