Description

A row of five cottages located at 8-16 High Street, Wickwar, dating from the mid-18th to late 18th and early 19th centuries. The cottages are rendered and have slate roofs, with double Roman tiles at number 8. They are two storeys high, although numbers 10 and 12 are taller. Number 8 has 20th-century casement windows and a central door. Number 10 features a single 20th-century casement and a door to the left. Number 12 has 16-pane glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor and two 12-pane sashes on the first floor, along with a panelled door to the left. Number 14 contains three 2-light casements and a door to the left. Number 16 has a single 20th-century casement and a rear door. The cottages occupy an important position in the village street and are included in the listing for their group value.
