Description

The Simon Tomb, located 8 meters north of the Church of St Mary and All Saints, is a chest tomb dating from the mid-19th century. It commemorates Peter Simon, who died in 1849 at the age of 79. The tomb is made of tapered freestone and features a moulded base and a moulded lid cornice. Surrounding the tomb is a complete set of wrought and cast-iron railings, which are mounted on a freestone and rubble plinth. The railings are adorned with fleur-de-lys finials, and the fluted columns at the corners are topped with urn finials.
