Description
The boundary wall of the Royal Marine Barracks, located to the north, was built around 1857. It is a tall, battered retaining and boundary wall made of Plymouth limestone rubble, featuring widely-spaced buttresses. The wall was constructed following the excavation of the former Bunkers Hill in 1857 to accommodate the extension of the barracks in the 1860s. It serves to enclose the barracks on the northern side.
