Description

Bird Tree Cottage is probably late 17th century. It is constructed of painted rubble with a tiled roof, originally thatched, and the roof has been raised. The building is arranged in an L-shape with a cross passage and stacks located at the south end and centre. It has two storeys and three windows. The north wing features moulded mullion windows. The interior includes chamfered beams and fireplace lintels in both ground floor rooms. In the south room, there are remains of a bread oven.
