Description
The Parish Church of St Peter has Norman origins but was rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries in the Perpendicular style. It was altered and extended to the east in 1878-9 using old materials and features. The church is constructed of sandstone and has a modern tiled roof. The tower is a notable example of a "Somerset" tower, featuring four stages, set back buttresses, and a pierced parapet, making it a prominent landmark. The north aisle includes four-light windows and a parapet, while there is a south porch. Inside, the church has a three-bay nave and a two-bay chancel, with a new ceiling and floor in the nave. The interior also features a Norman font and two small head brackets on the south wall of the chancel.
