Description
The road bridge spans the by-wash at the north end of the earth dam at Blagdon Lake, formerly known as the Yeo Reservoir. It was designed by the architect and engineer Charles Hawksley as part of the waterworks at Blagdon, constructed between 1898 and 1905.
This three-span bridge is made of stone ashlar. Each span features projecting cut-waters on either side, which are capped with domed copings. The spans have slightly pointed arches adorned with decorative moulded architraves, and a coved cornice is positioned above, just below the bridge's parapet. The parapet is finished with square piers that have pyramid copings.
