Description

Manor House Farmhouse is a mid-17th century farmhouse, with a 19th century extension to the left. The building is constructed of banded ashlar and flint, with a tiled roof and gable ends. Brick stacks are located at each end of the original range. The farmhouse has a T-shaped plan. The original facade is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and three bays. A rubble plinth runs along the base. Ground floor windows are 4-light stone mullioned, with hollow chamfers, while the upper floor windows have a similar design with returned labels and horizontal glazing bars. The front door is made of oak planks, featuring wrought iron strap hinges and is situated under a moulded 4-centred head within a square surround. A 19th century gabled porch has been added, incorporating a reset stone bearing scratched dates of 1686 and 1666. The 19th century extension has 3-light sash windows without glazing bars. At the rear are several wooden mullioned windows with ovolo-moulded frames and leaded lights. Inside, the farmhouse has a central passage with plank and muntin partitions. The east room includes a moulded stone fireplace with a slightly pointed head. The rooms feature stopped double roll moulded ceiling beams, and original roof timbers with cambered tie beams, some of which have struts.
