Description
Lower Silton is a house, probably built in the late 18th century. It features rubble walls and a tiled roof with stone slate verges, along with end brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The windows are three-light casements with glazing bars, and the uppermost lights have pointed heads. On the ground floor, there are two canted bays and a central glazed door.
Inside, the west room has a cornice with cable and egg and dart mouldings, while the east room features an 18th-century chimney piece with carton-pierre enrichment. The house is reputed to contain murals painted by William Blake, which were painted over by a later occupant.
