Description
The Castle Inn is a public house, likely built in the 18th century. It features plastered walls, a thatched roof, and brick stacks. The building has one storey and attics. The main block, which faces the road, includes a weatherboarded porch with a thatched roof and a flush panelled door. The ground floor has four double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the attic contains four half-dormers: two with horizontally sliding sashes and two with casements, all also featuring glazing bars. At the west end of the facade, there is a porch-type extension with a thatched roof. The west elevation has a modern two-storeyed canted bay window with casements, which is tile-hung between the windows. There is a large modern extension at the rear of the building, and the interior has been significantly altered.
