Description

Lime Tree House is an early to mid-18th century detached house with a two-story, five-window front. It is constructed of purple brick with red brick dressings, featuring a moulded eaves cornice and dormers. The windows are sash windows with flush frames and triple keystones. The doorway is distinguished by fluted Tuscan pilasters and a segmental pedimented hood supported by carved and foliated brackets.

Inside, a contemporary staircase retains panelling to dado level above a wall string. A northern room on the ground floor has fielded panelling extending to the ceiling. It contains a fireplace with a panelled overmantel and scrolled check pieces, and the fireplace surround features an eared archivolt, a pulvinated bay leaf frieze, and a cornice with an egg-and-dart bed-mould. The room also has a plaster ceiling.

Lime Tree House forms a group with Coupar House, the surrounding walls and railings, the stables, and numbers 2, 3, 5, and 7.
