Description

The boundary and garden walls, steps, and alcoves located to the south and southeast of Stinsford House, including the boundary wall to the churchyard, date mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries but incorporate some work from the 17th century. These structures are made of brick, with some sections buttressed and featuring moulded stone copings. The east boundary wall, which borders the churchyard, and the west boundary wall both include a moulded stone depressed four-centred arch. At the southern end of the upper garden, there is a brick retaining wall that has two alcoves situated beneath double flights of stone steps. Each alcove is topped with a double stone scrolled bracket finial. Additionally, at the southern end of the west boundary wall, there is a square brick pier with a moulded cap and ball finial. The east boundary wall is noted to be in rather poor repair as of 1986.
