Description
Provost House is an early 18th-century house located in Stour Provost. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a tiled, gable-ended roof with brick stacks at both ends. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with sash windows that include glazing bars and wooden lintels. The central door is topped with a flat hood, and there is a projecting stone chimney breast on the left side. This house was formerly known as the Royal Oak Inn. Inside, notable features include open fireplaces and deep chamfered ceiling beams.
