Description

Brewery Cottage and Woodman's Cottage are former outbuildings that were once part of Stafford House, located to the south. These buildings, likely constructed around 1848, have been converted into residential use and enclose a service yard. Brewery Cottage, situated at the southern end of the yard, was originally the brewhouse. It features rough ashlar walls and a stone slate roof with moulded coped gables and ashlar end stacks topped with moulded oversailing caps. The building is one storey above a cellar. The south elevation has stone mullioned windows with arched lights, and there are two raised coped gables. The entrance is located at the rear, accessible via a flight of external stone steps. The interior retains a large bread oven.

Woodman's Cottage, located on the east side of the yard, consists of the original stable and the eastern end of the former kitchen of Stafford House. It also has rough ashlar walls and a stone slate roof, and is a single storey. The east front features a gabled wing on the right side with a four-light stone mullioned window that has arched lights and a hoodmould. To the left, there is a range with a roof parallel to the frontage, which includes a ledged door and similar windows. A coursed rubble stone wall encloses the service court on the west side, featuring a battened door under a hoodmould. Additionally, a rubble stone wing wall extends south from the centre of Brewery Cottage.
