Description
Payne's Place is a building dating from 1615, with significant alterations in 1851, constructed in a Gothic style. It is two storeys high with an attic, and features three window bays. The end bays of the building project forward and incorporate a further attic storey with a gable. The roof is slate, with coping to the gable ends and brick stacks. The exterior is ashlar, with a stringcourse marking the first floor level. The windows are transomed and mullioned, with dressings, and include dripstones over the first-floor windows. The ground-floor windows are three-lights. A six-panelled door is set within an architrave frame, and a date plaque is positioned above the door.
