Description
No. 83 Blacknoll Lane is a detached house dating from the 18th century, with the southern section possibly being slightly later. The house features plastered cob walls, a thatched roof, and brick stacks. It is one storey high with attics. The main front elevation has three horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor, while the attic includes two half-dormers with similar sash windows. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension made of brick with a pantile roof, which contains the current entrance with a ledged door. Notably, Nos 82 and 83 Blacknoll are the last remaining houses that represent 18th-century development on the southern edge of Winfrith Heath. Originally, each house consisted of a cottage, a garden, and a paddock, but other cottages in the area have been demolished or rebuilt in recent years.
