Description
The barn at Marsh Barn Farm is a 16th-century structure attached to a farmhouse. It features rubble-stone walls and a reed thatch roof with stone gable copings, apex blocks, and a stone ball terminal. The barn is one storey high, with eaves at approximately 9 feet. The north of the barn has two-leaf halved doors with strap hinges, along with through-doors. There are two loop-holes, one on each wall. Inside, the barn has five bays and is constructed using jointed-cruck techniques, with posts bedded into the walls. It contains two soffit pegs and a slip-tenon, but only two collar-beams remain. Much of the woodwork, including rafters and purlins, has been renewed, and the floor is concreted over. There are no other internal features noted.
