Description
This boundary stone, dating from the mid to late 19th century, is located approximately 23 meters south of the entrance to Captain's House on Portland Castle Road in Castletown. The stone is roughly 300 millimeters square with a worn pyramidal top, which is partly hidden by the rising road surface. It is situated next to the boundary wall of the Castle. The south face of the stone is incised with the words "WD BOUNDARY," while the east and west faces feature a "WD" arrow. This stone is one of several similar markers on the island, established by military authorities, and it likely has an identifying number on its lower part.
