Description
Treloyan Cottage is a cottage, probably from the 18th century. It has whitewashed rubble walls and a steeply pitched asbestos slate roof with brick chimneys at the gabled ends. The building is single depth and consists of two cells, with an early extension at the rear. It is two storeys high and features an almost symmetrical front with three windows. The central door is partly glazed and dates from the 19th century, and it is sheltered by a glazed gabled porch added in the 20th century. On either side of the door are a 2-light 20th-century casement window and a 2-light horizontal sliding sash window, both with glazing bars. Above the ground floor openings, there are three 2-light horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars. The rear extension is made of rubble stone and cob, with slate hoods over the window openings. Inside, there is a fireplace on the right with a large timber lintel spanning the width of the room, supported by inserted granite posts. The left side has a granite lintel over another fireplace. A simple plank and muntin screen is present on the ground floor.
