Description

This is an early 19th-century pair of cottages located on Polkirt Hill in Mevagissey. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble with granite dressings and extend over three storeys, originally containing five windows. Each cottage has a semi-circular headed doorway, a fanlight above the door, and a flat architrave. The doorways are fitted with panelled doors, and the cottages have quoins at the corners. A wooden eaves course runs along the top of the walls, and the roof is slate with a hipped profile, punctuated by two dormers. Nos 7 and 9 are part of a wider group which includes Nos 1 to 13 (the odd numbers) and the King’s Arms public house on Fore Street.
