Description
Yonder Netherton is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of rendered stone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof with gable ends and gable end stacks that have rubble shafts and shaped tops, along with granite dressings.
The layout consists of a two-room plan with a central entrance leading into a passage. There is one room on the left and one on the right, each heated by a gable end stack. A single-storey lean-to is attached to the right side, while a range of unheated single-storey outhouses from the 19th century is attached to the left side.
The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window arrangement. The ground floor includes a half-glazed 20th-century door, a two-light granite casement window with chamfered edges and a 19th-century casement above it, which has a hood mould and string course. To the right, there is another two-light casement with a drip mould and an additional two-light casement. On the first floor, to the left and above the window to the right of the door, are two small two-light casements, both with chamfered granite surrounds and stoolings for the mullions. A 20th-century two-light casement is located to the right. The single-storey lean-to on the right has a door at the front, and the range of single-storey outhouses on the left features a two-light three-pane casement at the front.
The rear and interior were not accessible during the survey. However, it is noted that the room on the ground floor to the right has chamfered and step-stopped cross beams, with a 20th-century fireplace at each gable end on the ground floor.
