Description

Drym Mill, now a house, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of granite and killas rubble walls with dressed granite quoins, sills, jambstones, and lintels. The roof is hipped and covered with scantle slate, with a 20th-century stone chimney positioned over the rear right-hand corner. The building has a rectangular plan, with the machinery removed. It has two storeys over a basement. The front elevation, facing the road, is irregular with two window bays. A wide doorway is located to the right of the basement, and a small window is positioned to the left of the middle. A similar window is on the ground floor, and two more are situated towards the left and right of the first floor. A doorway and a window above it are found on the middle of the right-hand-end wall, while a first-floor window is located opposite the door on the other end, and a second-floor window is positioned towards the rear. The interior has not been inspected. The mill was recently repaired in 1986, retaining all original openings, and remains a fairly complete 19th-century mill.
