Description
A barn dating from the mid-to-late 19th century, located immediately north west of Tremedda (west). The barn is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, and has a scantle slate roof with gable ends – some of the roofing is dry slate, with replacement sections in asbestos slate. The plan is rectangular, incorporating a cartshed on the left with what were likely shippons beyond; a granary sits above. The ground floor features a wide doorway to the left, a doorway to the right, and a central window. Corresponding doorways and two small windows are located on the first floor. An external, quadrant-shaped staircase leads to a winnowing doorway on the right. The interior has not been inspected. The barn forms part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet that sits within the ancient field system of this part of Cornwall.
