Description
This is a range of farm buildings, including a granary, stable with a hay loft, and shippons, located 20 meters northwest of Trewint Farmhouse. The buildings date from the early 19th century and are constructed from local stone rubble and granite. The roofs are covered with rag slate, featuring gable ends on the left-hand single-storey range, while the stable and hay loft, along with the granary, have a higher rag slate roof with hipped ends. There is also a galvanised lean-to roof on the adjoining shippon in front.
The layout consists of a row of shippons with wide plank doors, and a central range that is at right angles, which includes the stable with an entrance in the right-hand gable end and a loft above. The granary is set back to the right, with an integral outshot in front that contains shippons and ventilators. The overall plan forms an 'L' shape. The single-storey shippons have four plank doors and slit openings between them. The stable features a loft above, with a plank door in the gable end and a timber dovecote on the front. The granary has stone rubble steps leading up to the first floor at the rear. The interiors have not been inspected. This group of buildings remains unaltered and unspoilt, contributing to the character of the area northwest of Trewint Farmhouse.
