Description
Crossfields and the house attached to the left are a pair of estate houses built in the mid-19th century for the Cotehele estate. They are constructed from slatestone rubble and feature a hipped slate roof with crested ridge tiles and a central axial stack with a rubble shaft.
The houses are designed as a pair, each with a one-room plan and an entrance directly into the room. Both rooms share the axial stack with back-to-back fireplaces. Crossfields is located on the right, while the house to the left includes a two-storey rear wing with an end stack at the corner.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front with 19th-century windows. The first floor features three gabled half-dormers, each containing a two-light casement window with a slate louvred ventilator above. On the ground floor, there are doors with cover strips for each house, along with a two-light casement window to the right of each door. A pitched hood extends continuously over all the ground floor openings. Attached to the right end is a single-storey lean-to with a single six-pane light window at the front. The left side has a small two-light casement window at ground floor level and an end stack for the wing. The rear of the wing is rendered and includes a door with a sidelight and a two-light casement window on the ground floor, as well as a two-light casement window on the first floor.
The interior has not been inspected.
