Description

The Old House is a house dating to around the mid-19th century, potentially with earlier origins. It is constructed from stone rubble, with a slate-hung front, and has a slate roof and brick end stacks. The house follows a double depth plan, with a central entrance leading to two reception rooms on the front elevation, each heated by an end stack. A staircase is located towards the rear of the passage, and service rooms, including a dairy and kitchen, are situated on either side of the rear. The two-storey exterior features a symmetrical, slate-hung front with three windows. A 19th-century six-panel door is flanked by two likely 20th-century two-light casements, with three windows above. Internally, the original partitions and plan remain intact. A 19th-century staircase has stick balusters, and there are 19th-century ceiling beams.
