Description

Trevornick Farmhouse, now a house, was built in the early to mid-19th century, with alterations and additions in the later 19th century and further changes in the 20th century. The front is constructed of elvan stone ashlar with granite dressings and quoins, with ashlar also present on the left side; the remainder is of stone rubble. The roof is hipped, covered in scantle slate tiles with ridge tiles. Brick chimney shafts rise from stacks on either side of the building.

The original plan comprised two rooms, with a central entrance and a principal room to the front left and right, each heated by an end stack. A wide, integral rear wing extends to the left, containing service rooms to the left and a stair hall to the right. In the later 19th century, this rear wing was extended with a single-room addition for service purposes. A single-storey 20th-century addition is located at the right end of the main range.

The front elevation is symmetrical, with three windows on each floor. The first floor has three late 19th-century 6-pane sashes. The ground floor has late 19th-century 4-pane sashes to the left and right, all with granite voussoirs, keystones, and jambs. A central early 19th-century 6-panelled fielded door has a matching granite surround. A 20th-century monopitch-roofed addition is attached to the right end. A 19th-century 12-pane sash is located at first floor on the right side, set within a brick cambered arch and keystone. The left end of the main range is blank. Two late 19th-century 6-pane sashes are located to the left, with granite voussoirs, keystones and jambs. A central 20th-century porch provides access to an early 19th-century 6-panelled fielded door. A lower, two-storey later 19th-century addition is present to the left, containing a door and a 9-pane sash window at first floor.

The rear of the wing has a 19th-century 12-pane sash window, while the rear of the main range has a 20th-century door. The inner side of the rear wing features a round-arched stair light with splayed glazing bars, along with a 19th-century 12-pane sash. A two-storey 20th-century addition is positioned at the end, with a door at ground floor and a 19th-century 12-pane sash at first floor, set within brick cambered arches and keystones. A straight joint in the masonry marks the boundary of the later 19th-century addition, where a 20th-century door and a 19th-century 6-pane sash are located at first floor.

The interior was not inspected but may contain notable 19th-century features, such as fireplaces, staircase details, and joinery.
