Description
The barn and horse engine house, located 10 meters northwest of Trentinney Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends. The barn has a rectangular shape and is likely designed with a shippon on the ground floor and a threshing floor above. The horse engine house is positioned at right angles to the rear of the barn, creating an overall 'T' shaped plan. The two-storey barn has a wide opening in the gable end, which has probably been adapted for later use as a cart shed. The roof of the horse engine house has a picturesque design, sweeping down to near ground level as the ground rises at the rear. Full inspection of the interior is not accessible. This structure is part of a group that includes the granary and farmhouse, contributing to a picturesque farmyard setting.
