Description

St Blazey War Memorial is a First World War memorial, believed to have been constructed in the 1920s and altered after the Second World War. It is made of timber and granite.

The memorial features a Cavalry Crucifix, with a carved figure of Christ on the cross, which is sheltered by a pointed timber canopy. This structure is set on a square stone plinth that displays bronze plaques on three of its sides. The front plaque includes the inscription "1914 - 1918/ GREATER LOVE/ HATH NO MAN/ THAN THIS/ (NAMES)." The plinth is elevated on a three-stepped base. Additionally, a stone tablet has been added at the front, which reads "1939 - 1945 WAR/ (NAMES)."
