Description
The Methodist Chapel, built in the 1860s, is constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and features a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical design with a pedimented front gable that includes two tall, round-headed sash windows with glazing bars, along with a central round-arched opening that contains double doors (panelled but covered with a thin sheet of timber) and a fanlight above. On the north and south sides, there are two storeys, each with three rectangular sash windows with glazing bars. Behind the chapel is the Sunday School.
Inside, the vestibule retains original 19th-century wood panelling, although some later glazing has been added. There is a staircase leading to the gallery. The rectangular auditorium features a gallery on all sides with semi-circular ends, a panelled front, and paired brackets to the soffits supported on cast iron columns. The seating consists of simple pitch pine pews, and there is a decorative carved pitch pine pulpit.
