Description
Dean's Bridge is a structure over Dean's Brook, with possible origins in the late 15th century. It was likely rebuilt in the 18th or 19th century and underwent further partial rebuilding and widening in the 20th century. The bridge is constructed of slatestone rubble with granite coping on the parapet walls. Originally, it had three round-headed arches, but as of November 1986, only one round-headed arch remains on the upstream side, featuring a slatestone arch ring. The downstream side has been entirely rebuilt with a concrete arch. The parapet walls are approximately 70 centimetres high and about 5 metres long, made of slatestone rubble with roughly hewn granite coping. The bridge itself is about 5 metres wide and spans around 5 metres.
