Description
East Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid to late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of rendered slate-stone and cob, particularly noticeable in the overhanging part at the front and in occasional patches elsewhere. The building has a steep-pitched slate roof and stands two storeys high. The front features an irregular arrangement of three windows, all of which are mid-20th century casements. The windows on the first floor, located in the centre and to the right, are positioned directly below the eaves. There is a flush six-panel door, with the upper panels glazed, situated under a gabled porch to the left of centre. To the left, there is a slender stepped external end stack, while a more prominent stack to the right includes a large semi-circular cloam oven projection at its base. At the rear, there is an almost full-length two-storey lean-to. The interior could not be inspected during the resurvey in December 1987, but it is likely to contain some features of interest. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
