Description
Butter well or cooler located about 10 metres south of Lower Tregantle Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-17th century. This structure is made of granite and is set into a bank. It has a circular plan, measuring approximately 1 metre in diameter, with granite walls, floor, and roof. The door opening is about 50 centimetres wide and 70 centimetres high, featuring granite jambs and a lintel. There are no shelves inside, and there is no water beneath for cooling, making its exact function unclear.
