Description
This is a Roman inscribed stone made of granite, standing 1.26 meters high, 0.32 meters wide, and 0.26 meters thick. It is set upright on a modern granite stone base. The south-west face of the pillar features a very worn incised inscription in Latin, which reads "C/ DOMI/ NGAL/ LO ET/VOLUS." This is a shortened form of the phrase meaning "for the emperors, caesars, our lords, Gallus and Volusianus." Additionally, there are two holes on this face, one located 0.25 meters above ground level and the other 0.56 meters above ground level. These holes were originally for the hinges of a 19th-century gate, which have since been removed, and the holes have been filled with hydraulic lime and colored sand mortar.
