Description
The gateway and coffin rest at the northeast entrance to the churchyard of the Church of St Helena dates from the 19th century. It is constructed from slatestone rubble and granite. There are short sections of rubble wall on each side, each approximately 2 meters long and 1.5 meters high, topped with roughly hewn granite coping. The central coffin rest is made of slatestone rubble and features a top formed by two granite monoliths. A pair of wrought iron gates, decorated with lattice work, trefoils, and spike finials, completes the structure.
