Description
The Western Hotel, located at 1 Gabriel Street, is a building dating from the 18th to 19th century. It is constructed of granite ashlar and features three storeys and a semi-basement, with a total of six windows. Originally, the hotel had two storeys and a semi-basement with three windows. The top storey and the three-storey side addition were added in the mid-19th century and are designed to blend harmoniously with the original structure.
The building has a semi-circular-arched doorway at the center of the original block, with semi-circular-arched windows above it and a small pediment. It also includes two string courses, an eaves cornice, and a parapet. The entrance is enhanced by steps and iron railings.
