This early 18th-century building, comprising numbers 51 and 53 St Austell Road, is stuccoed and two storeys in height. It has two widely spaced windows, each with three lights beneath segmental arches accented with keyblocks, and contains glazing bars. The central doorway is glazed. Historically, the building served as the Old Duke William Inn and was the early home and traditional birthplace of Ralph Allen, a postal pioneer.
