Description
The Holy Well of St Keyne, located to the southwest of the Church of St Keyne, has origins dating back to the 4th or 5th century, with a structure that was modified in the late 19th century. It is constructed from dressed granite and rubble. Access to the well is provided by seven steps leading down to a sump that is fed by a spring, which is covered by a round brick vault. Surrounding the steps are six granite posts with pyramidal heads, which are connected by a granite plinth and threaded iron rails.
